Second tranche of court buildings to be sold

HM Courts Service is moving to the second phase of a disposal programme, with a further 31 court buildings across England and 1 in Wales to be disposed of.

The courts are mostly in central locations within towns and cities across the country and potentially suitable, subject to planning, for a wide variety of uses.

This second phase is made up of 32 assets spread across the country, of which 24 are freehold and seven long leasehold or optional leases, totalling more than 7.4m sq ft. Notable properties up for sale in this second tranche include East Berkshire Magistrates’ Court in Maidenhead, Moot Hall in Newcastle and Wandsworth County Court, SW15.
