It always comes back to the banks...

Is it too pessimistic to ask how well insulated the banks are against the ongoing problems of their borrowers many of whom are companies that are currently not allowed to trade, or are landlords to such companies?  As we discovered in 2008 the bank balance sheet is the point where the buck rests immediately before it lands on the desk of the government.  We have often been reassured that capitalisation requirements have allowed for a downturn but hopefully someone has their eye on this particular ball.
